More often than not, I create in my home studio. I do paint some murals and I have social painting events that get me out. These last two things were put on hold in the spring when all of the stay at home measures went down. Since the reopening of things, I’ve been pulled out of my home studio to create public murals. One was already planned and delayed but the other two I’ve painted, and the next two I will be painting, are new bookings since reopening.

I feel like we, as a whole, we need as many colourful, beautiful things around us, to help remind us that the grayness that seeps into our lives, as we distance, experience ongoing fear and go into the unkown, is temporary. And it seems to be spurring on more mural projects. I think it’s great. When I’m painting them, I see people light up as they see something positive before them. They engage with me, often communicating how grateful they feel for what I am producing. It’s quite humbling actually.

I enjoyed creating a locally-inspired mural with a fellow artist, Jan Rankin in Tsawwassen Mills Shopping Centre, as they wanted to welcome customers back in a positive way.

And I’ve just completed this big exterior mural at Tsawwassen Shopping Centre in the heart of TTown! Tomorrow, I’ll be on to two more fairly large exterior murals.

I’ll post more detail about them on my murals page or visit my Instagram account for the most up-to-date info/pictures.
